An extraordinary colony of self-catering cottages nestled in the warm glow of nature on the shores of Rice Lake…..and so much more.

Our success has been linked to providing clean, comfortable accommodation to generations of travelers who want to experience cottage life without the hassles or expense of ownership. For over 100 years we have renovated and designed programs to cater to a diverse world class market seeking a Canadian vacation product.

Our cottages, 30 in total, are continuously renovated and updated to serve the needs of the traveling public, our guest. The cottages feature full kitchens with microwave oven, full fridge and stove, coffee maker and toaster, counter space, dining area and soon all units will have dishwashers. Ceiling fans are located in the living areas and bedrooms. Large windows frame the view. Washrooms feature whirlpool tubs, showers, sink and toilet – larger units have 2 washrooms. Bedrooms (from 1 to 5 available) have comfortable beds, duvets, extra blankets, closet space and a desk. Living area features sofas and chairs, colour television, VCR, stereo, telephone, modem connection, library and a wood-burning fireplace. The outdoor deck faces the lake, holds lounge chairs and a gas barbecue. Picnic tables are located on the lawn in front of each cottage. Gardens provide privacy for each cottage.

A nature path along the waterfront allows birds and butterflies to exist in a separate ecosystem in full view of the cottages. Private docks are located on the waterfront in front of each cottage – these docks are ideal for fishing, sunbathing, boat parking and for dangling feet in the water.

Each cottage is provided with the essentials like toilet paper, towels, linens, welcome coffee packet and firewood. You arrive with luggage and snacks... everything else is here! You can prepare your own meals or dine with us.

Grocery lists are provided in all cottages for those who wish to order fresh produce and meat daily. Grocery stores are located in Keene (5 km), Hastings (15 km) and in Peterborough (25 km).
